Morris Gleiztman is trying to get a message across with humour through the character Colin . The author tries to tell people that cancer is serious and that its not right to beet people up just because their gay , Gleitztman tries to do this in a humors way Like this:
The business man shifted in his seat and gave another grunt of pain
‘Is that a bit of cancer? ‘.asked Collin .
Morris does these in events like Colin meeting Ted or Colin finally growing up and maturing . Eventually Morris finishes with Colin coming to Luke and doing the only good thing he can do for Luke ….. Be by his side.

Next Paragraph

Gleitztman uses humorous actions or humor to get his message across like Colin being wrong almost all the time like thinking Luke has gastric or an in flight cricket pitch on an aeroplane , Colin thinking anything with the name queen is owned by the queen or asking if the man on the plane “had a bit of cancer?” but over some time Colin grows up and starts to think more about what he’s doing like going to see Luke and getting Ted the wheelchair to see Griff or realizing their might not be a cure for cancer.

In addition to this, Colin has been selfish until he grew up like saying “bet nobody gave you draggy school shoes “to the queen on the tv or “kids today don’t no how we’ll off they are “. When he found out Luke had 4 lots of Christmas pudding . Or wanting a statue of his glory out in the front yard or for mum and dad to praise him when he brings home the worlds best doctor or the cure for cancer .

Morris Gleitztman tries to tell people the importance of facing up to reality . In events like Colin meeting Ted or him going to London it helps us to understand that Colin’s only tring to help but would love to be praised and that’s what motivates him . Through the eyes of Colin there’s alot of things that he doesn’t understand but thinks he does and that leeds him to be selfish and wrong and doesn’t realise how good his life is , he turns good into bad like he hated Luke but at the end he loved him , but Colin doesn’t realise or see the bad things until the end when he really understands what’s happing .
